The Worst Battle...

A Different World

Last night I went to a party for the first time on meds and not able to drink. Watching everyone else drink for 5 hours was a bitch. I felt out of my comfort zone and like I was in a whole new world. I wish I could say I had a good time, but as partiers drank more, I felt even more out of place...and not just among the group, but in my own mind and body. I don't want to exclude a social life, but I am not sure how to make the adjustments to live this new reality and still have a good time.

Do You Practice Mindfulness to Battle Your Disorder(s)?

Mindfulness is a spiritual or psychological state considered to be of great importance in the path to enlightenment. Correct or "right" mindfulness is a state of being in which greed, hatred and delusion have been overcome, abandoned, and are absent from the mind. It is an attentive awareness of the reality of things, especially of the present moment. It can be an antidote to delusion and is considered, as such, a 'power' (Pali: bala). Mindfulness becomes a power in particular when it is coupled with clear comprehension of whatever is taking place.

CBT & Psychiatrist All in One Day

Today I have appointments  with both my therapist and psychiatrist, just far enough apart to take up most of my day. I guess it's a good thing, considering my current state of mind. But sometimes it feels like the disorders are at the wheel, and I am just a passenger along for the ride. So, a little inspiration to get through the day:

The voice inside your head that says you can't is a liar.

Have a good Monday everyone!
